Halloween item farming
So, Halloween is coming up and as we all know, there are traders which trade party/drunk/sweet items for a variety of low level items.

Anyone know any viable farms taking advantage of these collectors so we can stock up early, if any?

idk but I've been stockpiling some Decayed Orr Emblems for about half a year. I'll be getting me some Absinthe.
I believe Orr Emblems are farmed a good amount outside Bergen Hot Springs. Bring some smiters and your golden.
Charr can just be farmed in the breach, or in the Great Norther Wall mission (when you should run), if you have EN, it's even easier to farm them.
Caromi would be outside LA if you want to farm them.

If you have the EoTN quest "Charr Invaders", they drop charr carvings...you get quite a few too.

Currently running up and down from Frontier Gate to Ruins of Surmia. Killing grawl for Ornate Grawl Necklaces. Quite simple, dont do real damage. And probably all proffessions can farm easy here. Doing it with my hammer warrior. Just try not to kill all enemies at once for better drops.
Otherwise farming outside Nolani for some grawl. Singed Grawl skulls for the Wintersday event, trade 2 for spiked eggnog. Also real easy.
To bad none of the collectors give Sweet tooth items. If i'm correct.

I'm still amazed that people believe this. There was a great study done on it that proved that drops are determined when the map loads. Check it out here.
Back on topic:
It's already been mentioned about the gates of Kryta farm for decayed orr emblems so.... how about farming charr carvings! I'd either do that at the end of the Great Northern Wall, you know where you're supposed to run away from the charr, just turn around and there's a nice spot you can stop and they can't get by you. Or just do Nolani, crank open that gate and wipe out the charr that charge in at you.

For charr carving do the Great Northern Wall mission in NM. After the movie, dont run and kill all charrs.
On top of giving you a lots of carving , its epic fun

Would it not just be more efficient to farm Raptors (or whatever) in HM for gold/drops n then just buy the alcohol off others at 100g per point?
I've not done any maths here so please feel free to prove me wrong.

When it comes to farming grawl necklaces, I just use a N/E with 16 SR and 12 fire. One cast of icy veins on the grawl monk kills the whole mob instantly and if u get some hammer wars on u just inferno and flameburst them. If u get good at one cast killing entire mobs with IV u will move along quickly.

I am solo farming in hm the fire imps and caromi outside LA. The fire imps drop glowing hearts + the occasional ruby. The caromi for their scalps, also lots of feathers which fetch a good price and quite a few golds. So its profitable for both collector items and cash imo.

Hmm, let's say you can get 7k an hour farming Raptors, which seems a fairly conservative estimate. At 100g per point, that's 70 points of alcohol. Vials of Absinthe are one point a piece, so 70 Vials of Absinthe.
In order to get that many via the collectors, you'd need 210 Decayed Orr Emblems (or 140 Ornate Grawl Necklaces or 70 Feathered Caromi Scalps). That's an awful lot of collector drops in an hour. If I'm getting one per minute (60 an hour), I feel like I'm doing well. You will also make money farming these things at the same time, so that should be factored in as well. At 60 Decayed Orr Emblems per hour, you'd need to make up 50 Vials of Absinthe an hour to break even with Raptor farming, which would take 5k. For 60 Ornate Grawl Necklaces an hour, the numbers are 40 and 4k, and for 60 Feathered Caromi Scalps, 10 and 1k.
Although Raptor farming looks like it is more efficient, it's probably closer than you might imagine. If they start accepting Saurian Bones in trade, however, there's no contest.
Lastly, I wanted to bring up a point regarding Wintersday trading. A lot of people have been farming Decayed Orr Emblems with an eye toward getting Eggnogs. However, according to GuildWiki, you can trade Singed Gargoyle Skulls, Stormy Eyes, and a few other collector items for the far more potent Spiked Eggnogs (Eggnog = 1 pt., Spiked Eggnog = 5 pts.) Shouldn't you go that route instead?

Probably, but the farm for Decayed Orr Emblems is insanely easy and fast. Not to mention you can do it easily in HM as well, so you can get some good drops that way.

Though you only actually get 3 minutes of drunk time from a 5 min drink right?
None the less I've been hording my singed skulls for months now, seems a better farm than the 1 point Halloween booze

spiked eggnog only provides a level 5 buzz which gives 3 minutes of drunk time.

I am amazed that anyone thinks that thread is anything to do with rate of kill! It isn't, its about drops being calculated on zone entry. Neither SoJ or SV are fast kills, hence the way above suposed Loot nerf drop rates shown in that thread. Try heavy nuking, trapping or EoE bombing and watch your drops turn to absolute zilch.
On topic:
Grawl necklaces: farm the level 3/4 grawl in Eastern Frontier, outside the Ruins of Surmia outpost. There are about 40 to be killed in 4 mins just by sneezing at them, any profession.
